Default ABS light still on

I just installed a rebuilt ABS module from BBA today on a 2001 S80, and the ABS, check engine and traction lights are still on, even after driving it. Aren't these supposed to go away by themselves? The check engine light code was pulled before replacing and read P1550.

If BBA didn't clear the codes you will need to have them cleared.

Alright, but after a while, it's going to be cheaper for me to get a scanner if I have this problem with almost every Volvo I come across.

After having the mechanic look at the suspension again, he discovered the wire leading to the wheel sensor was severed. Fixed it and the ABS light, STC light and check engine light all went away. I wonder if I needed that ABS module afterall.

If you didn't at that time you would have soon.
Besides when they rebuild them they make them alot better than factory.

I think someone has worked on it before, one of the e-5 screws were missing. The module I received was glued together with two gaping holes I had to plug up myself before installing to keep moisture or dirt from entering. So is it a lot better than factory? I don't know, but the car is for resale anyway. I would hate to have installed it the way it was shipped to me and sell the car to someone like that.
