Yes it can. I have also seen a bad ABS module shut an entire car down. Thats how much they affect each other.

Okay... the CEM has been replaced. But before that Victor had tested the ABS MODULE in another car and it went well.

See the thing is that VOLVO had installed the new CEM in after they found that the CEM was fried. And they also put in a new ABS MODULE. I don't think they tried loading the software for the key with my ABS MODULE on. I would say they assumed the ABS MODULE was faulty. Would you say they're were just trying to sell me a ABS MODULE. 1050.00 at the dealer. Doesn't the service rep. get a cut from the part?
Based on your exp. how does a VOLVO react to a bad CEM?

It is usually a guess on why the CEM went bad. The ABS doesn't need software. I think they just assumed the module was bad and fried the CEM. The parts Dept makes money off the parts. The tech makes money off the labor. The service advisor mainly makes money off both parts and labor.

Well.... I'm stressed out the ABS MODULE...I have not driven that S80 in about a month now; and I've had it. My girl has been driving from Long Beach to Camp Pendleton to pick me up and stuff. Talking about feeling useless.
so tomorrow after I get off from post and if we don't have some pointless formation I would go and install the ABS Module back in the car and hope things go well.

So I put the ABS MODULE back on and nothing. The car still doesn't want to turn on. Base on the sound the car did it sounded like if the battery was low; considering the car has been sitting there for 10 days. So I got a jump and nothing. I also notice that there were no messages idicating the ABS Module being bad. For example: Brake Failure Stop.... after the jump I decided to disconnect the two connector from the ABS Module and try if would turn on. NOTHING.
Could I have burn the CEM again meaning the dealer was right? What's the symtoms of a bad CEM and how many CEMS is there in a S80 T6

1 Cem only. I doubt it burned out that fast. It didn't even try to turn over at all? I wish I was there to read codes in the systems.

Not really sure maybe try to disconnect the battery and hold the positive and negative cables together for 5 minutes then reconnect and try again.

Well if the CEM remembers the ABS computer disconnected then the codes will be there. Did it not start just from low battery?

30657629-9 have you replaced that CEM ever? No it didn't turn on. Should I get the battery charged or just get a jump?
