AC stops cooling after 15 mins
1. I have a 1999 Volvo s80 and the ac stops cooling after 15 to 20 mins. So I turn it off for 10 mins and it starts cooling again for another 15 to 20 mins...so on and so on. After reading the post i gather that there are two issues that I need to check:
a. Refridg. Low which and i hear that you need to fill on high side? if so what PSI should i charge it to?
b. interior Climate Sensor dirty ( how much PSI should i use so i do not damage during blow out.
2. I did find that i had a leak in the coolant reservoir (pin hole just outside the fill cap. i have purchased a new part and will replace. My question here is could this effect the A
C?

Consider the clutch shimming and / or bypassing the thermal cutout switch. I recently did both options and the A/C stays on and blows cold. (not sure which one actually was my cure) I went the route of the "ghetto" shimming job where you insert shims on the outside of the cluth/pulley to push it closer to the compressor. Didn't have to remove the compressor to do this job.
