Oh, Boy! This one is a killer... The dealer wants $100. to "check out" and extinguish the air bag warning lite, which came on after replacing the battery.

What does one do about this?

If the light is on just cause the battery has done something they should just do it and not charge you. Kinda dumb to charge you . when i had my dodge one of my lights came on for no reason. i took it to the dealership, they hooked it up to the remote diagnostic tool, and said its not really an issue, and turned it off. no charge.

I kinda would think as much as you spend on a volvo, the dealership would do a few things gratis. But i guess most dealerships are not as customer oriented anymore. Cept bmw, they got great customer service.

 

If they replaced the battery they should have cleared it.

These cars are common to have the light come one with low battery voltage.
