Auto climate control

Is there a way to turn off the automatic climate control so it doesn't start every time the engine starts?

You don't say what year S80, but in most cases if you turn the fan all the way down it essentially shuts off the HVAC.

It's a 2000 but I do that and next time I get in and start it up the A/C still kicks on. Even if I have the temp set to full hot it comes on. Is it a problem with my car?

My 05 S80 does the same thing and the only way ive figured out is to turn both degree ***** to the center and make sure it's turned off
