Default Brake Booster Vacuum

Hello,

I have Volvo s80 1999 2.9 non turbo

yesterday when I open the hood.....i heard buzzz sound..on the air hose coming from brake booster from similar part as picture attached. I took from a local workshop.

since I am trying to replace the one i brought...i noticed that old has no one way air ....while the one i brought ...can pass air from one side only.....i m confused does it for my car and if yes...where the air flow should be...to the brake booster or intake.

Please advise

I'm pretty sure that is related to your evap/carbon canister emission lines - not your brake booster

Air flow comes out of the brake booster. You would have a one-way valve in the brake vacuum source, always.

Thanks firebird...so do you mean that air should go to Air take manifold not back to brake booster?

Regards,
