Brake Warning Light.
Hi, all.
I was driving my 2006 S80 home last night, braking very (very)hard off the highway. Upon breaking, I got a red Brake Warning message: "Brake Fluid Low: Urgent Service Needed" and the brake light illuminated. No change in braking feel.
When I let off the brakes and came to a stop, the warning went away. When I checked the message screen, I got a "No Messages" indication. Car has been fine since.
Any thoughts on what happened? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!
Bill

you may be right on the threshold of what is allowable and not as far as brake fluid level. very heavy braking and an almost empty brake reservoir might allow physics and gravity have that fluid shift forward and the sensor become open momentarily, turning the light on. then when you go to normal g forces the fluid level floats back and re-closes the sensor. id have the brakes checked because usually light on means fluid is low due to pads being close to worn out. if your pad is fine then top off the fluid in the reservoir and see if that takes care of the light.
