bulb failure on 04 s80
does anyone else have a problem with constantly burning out headlights? I've gone through several and it's anoying. My parking lights are burned out and have not replaced them. Would this maybe cause my low beams to therefore fail prematurely? Any help greatly appreciated.
Had the same problem on my S60. Go to Autozone, etc. and buy a packet of bulb grease. Smear a coat over the entire base of the bulb and replace. It keeps the moisture away from the bulbs and they last longer. Best $1 you'll ever spend.
My 01 is a bulb eater as well. I routinely change the headlights, parking lights, brake lights, tail lights....they all go bad way to quickly. I think it has to be some type of a voltage issue, but can't prove it yet. I'm going to try the grease solution and see what happens. In addition, the dealer told me this is common on volvos that have a few miles on them.
Interesting how no one at the dealership can really tell you why this problem persists with no real solution. Plus they tell you that they've never had issues with this. Just curious. Anyway if the tech might have some insight on this it would be awesome
