CAR STALLS OUT...
hey guys new here i have a 99 s80 and i seeing alot of the same problems you're all having. my latest headache happens various times on my way to work the car will all the sudden slow down sometimes shake wont go faster then a few miles even with pedal pushed all the way down the car wont respond. so i have to turn it off wait a while restart and try to accelerate i changed my abs module thinking it would resolve the problem and it seemed to for the ride home the lights all came off and the abs and traction control was working perfect but the very next day same problem again all lights remain off but the car is acting up the guy who sold me the abs module has others is it possible that this one is also bad or should i be looking at other things sensors? . i now i have to change the oil seals because im getting the low preassure light and i saw bubbles on the oil stick. any feedback would be great guys. thanks

how can i know its that for sure do i have to take it apart will volvo charge me to check it out? what a headache this car has turned out to be i also read something about changing o2 sensors and cleaning first? what steps would you guys take on this one. i also read about the air mass sensor going bad alot. thanks so much

The ETM and ETM software upgrade should be accomplished for free by the dealership. If those aren't the culprits for the problems you've described, then they will only charge you for the diagnostic.
They can diagnose it for you and then you can take it elsewhere to get the work done.
The S80 is a good ride, it just has some known issues. If the ETM is the problem, your car will be running like a champ in no time!

ok so its been a couple days and the car was running great after the dealership cleaned and reprogramed the etm so you guys were right it was that thanks so much only problem is that today i was working on the headlights and happened to leave them on for a few minutes long story short they drained my battery when i restarted the car its actting up ounce again so i contacted the dealership and there going to try and get me a new etm they said there weren't sure if it would be possible under the recall/warranty because my car had been a total lost due to flood previously before i purchased it. ill keep you guys posted on the outcome.

so after taking it to the dealer again i was told that the etm did not need reprograming for a second time i thought it might since it started actting up after the battery died long story short they told me it was a clogged catalytic so i removed it and cleared it i also put on a new battery still having the same issues the car doesn't accelerate properly you have to push it to like 3k rpms before it starts moving what do u think guys is this a bad etm? what can i check for are there any ohms test i can do?

How did you go about unclogging your Catalytic Converter? I have had a hell of a time with emission problems with my silver money pit. Also, does anyone have a link to the emission warranty information for the S80?

P1330 Variable Valve Timing solenoid
P1633 CAN bus data link error -- usually something is off with the ABS controller when this is seen.
