Default Cd Player

Bought my car checked everything out, but the Cd player just acts like it wants to play a CD but then it just says Cd Error and so i tried to eject it but then it does nothing. It also will say load a cd in slot 3 but wont take any cd in either? Will this have to go to Volvo to fix and any idea how much it may cost or is there a simple answer i dont know about yet?

Default Pretty common

My CD player did the same thing. First, try disconnecting battery for a few minutes. Hook it back up and try ejecting CD's. Second option is to remove unit from console and manually removing CD's (make sure battery unplugged during this). Third...pay big bucks to get a new one. It may be possible to use an adapter to run an external CD changer (ie. trunk). Volvo stereos blah!

Is it not possible to swap out a cd player from a salvage vehicle?

A cd player from a salvaged vehicle will need a code i believe. you might have to go to the dealer with the numbers of the cd player for them to give you the code. im not positive on this tho. i would just swap out and put a new cd player. alpine, panasonic.

Forget about fixing the CD player.

Just get yourself an Ipod adapter.

Here is some instructions on how you can do this yourself.

I see the same model of radio/cd player I have in my S80. Can't I just switch the two? I am sure, like everything else, there will need to be a software upgrade with a different radio, but the same model. Tech, any advice on switching same models?
