Question...
There is a lock located just above the rear license plate area? I cannot get that to work at all..... Is it possible my subwoofer dammaged the lock?
Also, my headlights were left on 2 separate occasions (the switch was in the wrong position) and the battery died on both occasions. Both times I got it jump started. the first time i let the car run and charge for a good long while. The second time I brought it to sears, and the guy did a battery test, and he said to take the battery out and put it in a special unit which will test it better. Well it was determined the battery was still good adn he charged it up for about 40 minutes. At start up the other day, I could read the words ABS on the onboard computer(where you can read the message) just barely(the lighting for the words never was able to come on solid), when the car was fully started it went away....
Does the battery need to be replaced? If so I've only had it two months, and will they replace it under warranty, even with all my system equiptment?

RE: Question...
Ok then maybe the Battery is going bad. They should warranty it no problem. That is if it is bad. Have it load tested and see if it is good or bad.
The lock cylinder might be going bad. You have really tried messing with it?
Sometimes it takes a minute or 2 to get the key in and to turn it.

RE: Question...
Well I noticed something about the lock cylinder,
You know the buttons for the "STC", "headrest drop" and one with the picture of the trunk, The one with the picture of the trunk does not work at all, It does not light up at all. Could this be the reason why my trunk won't open????? If so how do you fix it?
thanks in adavance.

RE: Question...
The valet lock out has to be held down for a couple of seconds to activate. When this is active the power lock release is dead from remote or hand release. I recently had my windows tinted and the installer left the switch on to operate the windows. I arrived several hours later to a dead battery. He had been trying to open the trunk with the valet lock out switch and had activated it by accident. The car was so dead using the jump point under the hood didn't work and we had to get to the truck. I only had the valet key so no manual access, the car wouldn't come on enough to turn off the valet lock out to use the remote or handle. I really thought I was done for.
We got enough power thru the hood points to get the trunk open to then have to tear apart the trunk with tools mind you to even get to the battery. I love my Volvo more than any other car I have ever had but when you have a screw up watch out.
I also had disconnected the battery a week before to install XM service. This caused a spark and set off my airbag lights. A trip to the service department and $30.00 later my problem is fixed. Just beware.
