Default Check Engine Light/Battery

I brought my car into the local repair shop to get a few scratches taken care of on my car, plus repair damage done in a minor accident in the beginning of March. All seems well until today when the place called me to ask me if my Check Engine light was on before the accident or if it came on after. I graciously replied, neither, it wasn't on when I brought the car in to get fixed, it was running perfect with 63,000 on the odometer.

I'm wondering if the Check Engine light could have been triggered from them removing the battery as the removed the front bumper cover and rear bumper covers to fix them and it's my guess that they would have pulled the battery considering they were working around the front airbag sensors.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? They're bringing it over to the Volvo dealership that is attached to the body shop (same place, same company, just one is a general repair shop for body work and the other is the Volvo dealership) tomorrow to get checked out, but I'm just racking my brain on what could be wrong besides something triggering a warning because of the battery being pulled for about 5 days.

EDIT: 2005 S80 2.5T

UPDATE: Repair Shop/Dealership called me today and told me it's all set, they didn't really elaborate, but when I pick up my car in a few hours I'm going to ask about it. Obviously it wasn't anything major.
