Cool coolant level sensor

could a faulty coolant level sensor cause a 2000 volvo s80 t6 to lose spark

Not that I can think of. However it could cause the motor to run way rich and foul the plugs.

Have to correct myself here, I was thinking coolant TEMP. The answer is no, the coolant level sensor has no bearing on the ability to start. If it became disconnected however, one wonders what else might be loose. For a while I had the nag message for coolant level (bad connection, open circuit = low level) but it never affected my ability to start or drive the car.

All that the coolant level sensor does is monitor the level of coolant in the reservior. It has no impact on the engine management system.
