Check this out!!!!.. now the dealer offers complementary service upgrade for 2000 year models and up . But that is only if you go to them for some service like oil change, etc. I think this is great. Here is full report of it. You will have to open these files in new window for better zoom in

no i havent tried this but i will on my next service maintenance schedule. But i did call the dealer and they said it can be done but only when you come in for service due. like oil change or any kind of service.
you could call and ask them about this

I wonder if this will help eliminate the hesitation/surges I am experiencing with my 02 S80. It is getting worse and more frequent, I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow. No other choice as I am stumped, still no check engine light or any codes.

Do you think it is transmission related ? There are no signs of tranny failure i.e when shifting.

Does your car have its original ETM (Electronic Throttle Module)? The ETM is a known problem which can cause symptoms like yours.

Google "Volvo ETM" Check out the Youtube videos. I'm not 100% sure the ETM was a problem for 2002 S80s but if you contact Xemodex with your VIN they'll tell you.

I called Xemodex and fortunately my Volvo was not involved with the ETM recall and has a Bosch ETM. I removed it and cleaned, reinstalled and coincidentally the check engine light was on indicated miss fire on one of the cylinders. Turns out my issue was bad coil pack. Replaced and is running perfect.

was wondering if the software update will also change some thing i want to??..like i really hate all exterior lights been turned on. Especially during super bright Texas daytime. its just useless. i mean i know its Volvo safety and tradition but just pointless.
Today i blew my one of the low beam light. So i went and bought highest quality Silverstone. But they have the worst lifetime of the bulb compare to others.
So i want the dealer to change the manual headlights (thats the only option i have)

You can manually shut off the lights with the switch...u just have to remember when u cut the car off that the fog lights will stay on so turn it back.

I actually just replaced my throttle in my '99 2.9L Non-Turbo with an Xemodex. It has worked beautifully for 3 months now. It is very responsive and the take off is a lot smoother.

Anyway back on topic... I actually replaced all of my fuses that I could, I had the dealer reinstall the software on my ETM, and I even cleaned it before I replaced the throttle and either the upgrade that dealer did made it worse or my throttle was that far gone. So I just replaced it and I have not had any problems since, except for my coolant, but that is a different story.

I messaged them to call me amd the next day they called. Gave them my vin and they gave me tons of information to help me suck as call the dealer and see if the recall was corected on my car and hiw to go about getting one eather from them or the next best one. Very supprised a company would offer that information but they did. Dam good call on that company sir dam good.

does the passenger compartment has A/C vents..i dont physically see it ( i think) but i can feel air coming from somewhere when i turn the A/C too full blast cold. So i guess we can put bottles ( that will fit) into glove compartment for bit chiller..

Does anyone knows about it?
