Default Door lock relays

I have a 2002 s80 and after you have locked, or unlocked the doors and then the car sits for about 1 minute then the doors start to click almost as if you are trying to lock the door again and again. I have sat in the car and waited for this to happen then tried to unlock the doors from the drivers side door button and it doesn't work, but the passenger side works. Anyways this has bee happening for a while and if I don't drive the car at least once a day the battery will die. hope someone has some input before I journey to the dealer.

Thanks

The alarm might be causing the issue. I would take it into the dealership to have them diagnose it for you.

If you don't want to shell out the cash for a diagnostic, some of the other guys on the forum may be able to shed a bit more light for you.

One more thing. The car was have a hard time starting, the battery was getting old soI changed it. I wasn't sure if this problem was happening before and I did't notice it ( or maybe it was the problem with the battery in the first place), or if changing the battery caused this.

I'm guessing that your car having a hard start and the battery are by products of your lock/alarm system draining the battery due to their continual use from what you have explained.

Like I said, I would just take it to the dealership and have them do a diagnostic. Once you know what the problem is, you can determine whether it's something you can fix or if you should leave it to the pro's.

Is the noise coming from under the dash?

Well thanks for your input...I brought the car into the dealer and there was no codes on the system. So they manually checked the relays and found that the relay (switch pack) so they call it in the drivers door arm rest was the fault. After all was said and done the car cost about $600. Not too bad considering it is fixed now
Thanks again for you time to all.

Regards
