Default electrical trunk release

Electrical trunk releases do not operate with trunk closed. With trunk raised about one foot and the mechanical lock mechanism manually snapped closed all the electrical remote openers will open the lock. Lowering the trunk lid below the one foot level and the remotes will not work. Ive dissembled the trunk switch and the lock mechanism and found two micro switches and a small electric motor with gears and a shaft, nothing that could cause this kind of behavior.wiring diagram any one? or suggestions

OK, well I took apart the side liners in the trunk to follow the wiring harness and found that a connector by the amp in the trunk (on the driver's side) was loose. As I pressed on it I heard a snap and the connector seated itself. This has resolved my trunk light issue. Can someone confirm that this is part of the alarm system? I'm hoping this will also solve my alarm issue as work security notified me that my alarm kept on going off and when I attempted to start it I had a dead battery from all the alarm triggers (it took a while for them to identify me as the owner of the car). Can anyone confirm that this switch in the trunk can trigger the alarm? I have the Haynes manual for this car but the manual isn't the greatest.
