Electronic system check required

Electronic system check required
Went to open my car door today and didnt use the keyless entry because it was already unlocked. Soon as i opened the door, alarm goes off. No big deal, happens every so often. Guess it's a self-activating alarm if left unattended for a certain time period. When i went to start car, fired up with no problems. However, a message saying "electronic system check required" came up. Engine runs fine and after driving 15 miles, turned car off and turned it back on. 'Message does NOT come up nor in message history "no new messages." Should I really get this checked out. Again engine runs fine.

RE: Electronic system check required
I have a V50 wagon that did this recently as well. It says,"alarm system service needed". It just did it once, so I'm thinking it's a fluke. However, It keeps coming up every time I start the car. I push the button to acknowledge it and it goes away. How do you get rid of the message? Does that mean the alarm is failing everytime I start the car, or just telling me about the one time faliure?
