Default Euro Sport muffler on S80?

Hey guys.

So I cant find the exact muffler but a friend of mine used to own a VW passat with a VR6 motor and had an eurosport catback on it and my god... that was honestly the SEXIEST SOUNDING exhaust on a 6cyl engine I have ever heard. It was perfect for a sedan because it was nice and low pitched and not loud while driving around but you hit WOT and the beast came alive with a very very european low pitched grumble.

Im wondering if I would get the same effect on the S80.
Now the biggest difference is the S80 is an I6 and the passat is a "V6"

It seems the eurosport are marketed onlu to vdubs but theengine displacement between the vr6 and s80's are close enough.

Sooo if you have ever heard a VR6 with an eurosport im looking for that sound on my s80. Not alot of noise at normal driving but a very low deep grumble at WOT.

This is a 2.9 n/a by the way...

Tough to say....
The S80 might have a different exhaust note, not just from the I6 or V6.

Not sure how much this will help since mine is a T6, but I put a 30 series Flowmaster single in single out where the factory muffler was and removed the rear resonator. You can actually hear the car idle now, and under normal driving it has a nice eurosport growl to it. At wot all you can hear is the two tiny turbos spinning their heart out. Cost me $150 bucks at the local muffler shop including a stainless tip. Over all I am very pleased.

Yeah the turbos will obviously alter the sound In a good way!

Is there any way you can record it at idle and maybe a few throttle blips while in park... just to get an idea for the sound?

Yeah, give me a couple days to get it away from my wife. I have to replace the plastic blocks on the driver window anyway. Hopefully I will be able to post some by the middlr of the week.

If you want a sexy exhaust note you need to listen to clips of the 2JZ series Toyota engine.

It is my favorite sounding engine ever.

The 850 is also nice sounding.

I can't find clips of S80 exhausts, but it sounds cool inside the car when you punch it.

Well being that the 2JZ is very similiar in construction as the s80s I figured they would sound somewhat similiar.

Different timing, different turbos, and different exhaust runs....etc.

It depends on the mufflers you end up going with.

Do a custom 3" turbo-back exhaust with high flow cats, and a resinator, and a free flow muffler.

+1

But you can even delete the resinators.
The car won't seem any louder with or without them
