Eyeing the S80 - what to watch out for?
I want to replace my 2005 S60 2.5T in the next 4-6 months and am looking at the 6 cyl. S80s from 2008-2014 that are being offered, often pretty cheap.
Which models and model years are there to avoid?
Thanks

I bought a brand new 2008 S80 3.2L and it's still going going strong. I had intended to pass it on to my children once they had become of driving age but loved the car so much I'm still driving it today with 214,000 miles. In 2022, I had 4500$ US in repairs, all other years 2000-3000$ US. Still cheaper than replacing it at the inflated prices today.
Consider getting it inspected by a shop that knows Volvo and they can tell you what issues it will or may have. Search these pages for reoccurring issues other had. My S80 has been the best auto value I ever bought.
