fuel filter problems
Well, I have hard starting issues with my Volvo S80 T6 and it's getting worse. I have put off changing the fuel filter because someone must have broken something and had to rig it up. They used a coat hanger to keep the fuel filter lifted up and some cardboard wedged between the filter and the body of the car to keep it from vibrating I guess.
Anyways, I feel like the filter is a great starting point before I start assuming it's the pump or the check valve in the pump.
Whoever did it used what appears to be just regular rubber hose, which may be adding to the hard start issues. I want to fix this and hopefully get it back to "normal". First off, does anybody have a photo of what it's supposed to look like under there? What type of hose is used? Is it high pressure rubber hose? Or metal fuel line? What are some good ways to fix this? Braided fuel line with -AN fittings? I would rather spend $50 on a method with little room for error rather than mess with banjo fittings and spend only $8 or something.
