Default GPS Mounts

I just bought a Magellan 3050T for my S80. Since California state law prohibits using the windshield suction mount, does anyone have a suggestion for a mounting spot or an aftermarket mount that will work?

Thanks

Maybe a velcro on the dash.

Are you looking for a permanent mounting solution or just would velcro work?

I ordered a mount that has a lead weighted rubber base. Should be in next Friday.

Here's a link to it: http://www.gorillagps.com/images/pro...rd_dashmnt.jpg

I thought about using Velcro.

Yeah, that looks pretty sharp. Let me know how that mount works out for you.

The only thing that bothers me is the LEAD idea. I know it is covered and you wont ever touch it, but the idea is just it is LEAD.

Yeah, I didn't know if you were just refering to the weight of the mount or it really quite literally meant lead.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

Just referring to the weight. I'm not sure what they weight it down with. Here's the description of it from Magellan:

"Keep your Magellan RoadMate secure on top of your dash, and easily adjust it for optimal viewing.

Heavy weighted, no-slide construction keeps your unit firmly in place while driving. And there's no need
for drilling, adhesives or mounting hardware."

I design and build leaded stained glass windows. If the weight was lead, wouldn't bother me a bit.
