Default Grill changeup?

Hey everyone. I was having some thoughts about possibly getting an afertermarket grill. Right now I have the stock S80 grill. Upon taking a closer look at it today, it looks like maybe, the Volvo symbol and diagonal bar are a seperate piece.

Are they 2 diffrent pieces? And if so, how can I go about removing this piece? Thanks.

Lets start out with what year is your s80?

The slash might be seperate from the grille but if you take it off there is a big indent of where it once was. So don't go taking off the slash.

Thank you.

On a sad note there are no aftermarket grilles on the market for your s80.

You have basically two options.

1. Keep it as is.

2. Paint the grille slats. If you do I suggest black and using Plastidip which you should look for in a spray can at your local LOWES or Home Depot.

Remember that if you take off your slash there will be an indentation of it. So don't take it off.

If you did some searching you could find that out for yourself.

No there isn't.

Your only sure bet for a different looking grille is to paint your current one. I suggest Plastidip in a spray can as I mentioned above. Paint the grille slats you will be pleased.

Your only other option which I don't think will work is to try one of the eggcrate grilles made for the s80's. Again I don't think these will work. You will have to check your local Volvo dealership.

I painted the vertical parts in mine black and left the trim and the Volvo slash/logo chrome. I think it looks SO much better, I'll post some pics up when I get the chance. That's your best option.

Other than that you'd have to do a custom job and find some mesh or some kind of grill material and fit it in the outline of our grill. It'd be really nice, but I don't know if you'd want to tackle that.

Tech -

I want to paint my 99s80t6 grill too. My car's exterior is charcoal grey.

Why Plastidip black paint for the grill?
What is the difference between Satin Black paint and Plastidip Black paintin terms oflooks?

Thanks tech.

Plastidip holds up better to the road conditions.
