RE: Hard Wiring radar detector
I would run it through your cigarette lighter, thats what we do at my work (Circuit City). That way the power to the cigarette lighter is cut when you turn off your car so it doesn't drain your battery.
In my car (02 S80) the positive for the lighter is a light purple, not sure about the 07's.
Hope that helps!

I think i have one built it my 99 since the horn beeps at me whenever i get near a cop. heres a couple things to consider though.. your radar detector isnt going to detect anything unless they are shooting you with the gun and its a fact that cops dont leave their gun on. instead they waite until you are right up on them and then they shoot you wich makes radar detectorsuseless other then letting you know that a cop has already seen you and your speed. also they are illigal in some places and lastly if you get pulled over and he sees that thing on your dash you will get a ticket for sure just cause you were trying to outsmart him.. better off not bothering with it. maybe you have a reason but this is just general info im putting out here for everyone not just you.

I would have to agree with you. Radar/laser detectors are just neat ideas that used to help before instant on radar guns and lasers..... But I would never in any sense discourag any who could figure a way to eliminate the tax collectors of our highways.....
If a speeding ticket was about safety they wouldn't be hiding in the woods in unmarked cars. They would be wearing day glow orange and sitting in the medians.....
