Can anybody answer this for me please.I have my volvo s80 about 1 month now.I have left the headlights on twice now when i have gone in shopping.Is there a buzzer or warning to let you know you have left the headlights on when the engine is stopped.

It is my understanding that the headlights are automatically on when the car is running and will turn off with the car (Switch at 0 or Beam icon). However, if you move that switch to ``P`` to have the beams off and only the city lights on, those [city lights] as well as other misc running lights on the side and rear will stay on after the car is off. This $45,000 car will not warning beep or turn them off for you.

 

You can also have the daytime running lights disabled by the dealership if you'd like (for a cost).
