Just purchased my second Volvo, an '04 S80, and noticed that the seat heaters are not nearly as warm as in my '98 S70.

Is this common, or is there a problem with my seat heaters?

 

If its the same as the S60s then its factory set at a medium-range temperature. You can have the max temp set higher by the dealer. Just mention something to the service department next time. They may charge you, then again they may not.

 

Thanks -- it's still under warranty, so I'll give it a try when I take it in for some other minor issues.

I too have an '04 S80, and I've noticed that the seats NEVER got as hot asthe ones in the previous 3 Lexus that I owned - could have fried eggs on THOSE! Believe that it's all down to the programmed settings, either that, or Mr Wolwo is playing safe, and doesn't want a compensation claim for "fried Piles" landing on his desk.
