Default Heated Seats - Not hot enough

The drivers side heated seats on my '03 XC90 only feels slightly warn, it is definitely not as hot as the passenger side nor my other car. I am wondering how to troubleshoot and what could possible go wrong, maybe the heating element?

Any thoughs or suggestions?

Thanks

First of all, please note that I'm an 850 driver and am not privy to the XC90s.

I just checked the wiring diagram for 850's heated seats, and I found a thermostat on each seat. So, the thermostat could be cutting the power supply prematurely. Or like you say, the heater element may not be receiving full power due to unwanted voltage drop somewhere.

I'm sorry I couldn't help you better.

go to the dealer, they can adjust the settings for the heater.

I will give them a call first thing in the morning... It would be nice if it was just a setting.

sometimes the element itself can be bad, i do know the heat temp can be adjusted if the element itself is working correctly, sorry that is what i meant to say in my previous post, it can be adjusted if the element is working right, oh by the way, usually not always but if the heater has gone bad, it will require replacement of the padding as well.
