Default Heater quit would software problem be reason

I purchased a 2000 S80 2.9 and had a Pioneer AVIC GPS stereo installed by the dealer (Ford) Work was done in July and I had no need for the heater. Well, winter is on the way even in Charlotte. Could the heater not be working because the system needs a new update? further, my alarm system has a warning that posts in the messages 75% of the time and there is an Airbag warning constantely. I purchased the car in July with 62,000 miles and it's close to 68,000 now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you removed the factory stereo all together then yes maybe it could be the software.
They will need to remove the factory radio software. The factory radio is part of the Network of the car.Once you remove it with out the software the car acts wierd.

I would have all the codes pulled and cleared and the software removed for the factory radio.

The alarm message is most likely a bad Siren.
