Happy easter to all. I am very new on here so here goes...
I have just bought a 2000 S80 and am loving it (so far)
My question is :
I have a message on the screen say Emmisions Exhaust service also with the engine light on too. Does anyone know what that means ??
Also the car had fitted a stainless exhaust from the middle to the rear would that have anything to do with why i am getting that msg. The car does drive fine..

Hope someone know what i need to do

Usually is for the O2 sensors going bad. maybe also if they removed the catalyst it might also throw a code. you need to scan it to see the problem then after you might have an idea whats the problem.

 

Ok i have just had the AA come out to have a look. He plugged in his pc and got the code PO700 = transmission control system. MIL request..

He cleared the code and light is now off but he said it may come back on so then would have to go to Volvo

Do we know if transmission control system is a unit like a ecu ?

Also he said may never come back on just a gremlin in system that triggered light to come on...

Maybe it come back maybe it doesnt.. if it is running okay and the trans is not acting funny like slipping I think you would be ok if the code comes back again I would suggest taking it to a volvo especialist
