99, S80

Hello,

I was at a red light and was eating in my car and I accidently hit the car in front of my at a speed of 4-5 mph and my Airbag popped out and it ripped the dashboard so now I need a new dashboard. Very minor damage to the front bumper which I got fixed pretty cheap but the dashboard is a whole another thing because I went to the dealership to ask them on how much a dashboard would be and they said $4,000. So does anyone know where I can get a cheaper dash board and is there any way that dashboard can be fixed. I tried to search for 99 Volvo S80 dashboards on the internet and could not fined anything. The thing im surprised is the Airbag comming outat such a low speed. So any help would be great.

That sucks. I wouldn't think the system would deploy at such a low speed either. You must have been right at the threshold then. I don't know if the dash is repairable. As for finding a replacement, try contactingthis Volvo parts recycler. They are located in California, so shipping is going to rip you a new one. Try calling, as email doesn't always get a response. Their contact info is at the bottom.

Make sure to check ebay. They have a lot of stuff like that.
