Hi folks I have just joined up here and need massive help, I have a 1999 s80, its the 2.9 and their has been a rattle coming from which sounds like the front right wheel, its went through mot's etc and never came back with anything wrong, loads of parts have been replaced at the front end and still this rattle, its not going over big bumps or anyhting, its just the smallest uneven or bad bit of road and their is a very loud rattling noise and its really starting to get annoying, is their any common faults you could tell me about, thanks folks!!!!!!!!

 

Hay! DODS, I know this sounds stupid but! on one of my S40's i had the same rattle, i changed the tie rods/ball joint/trackrod end, you name it i changed it.... but i tracked it down to the exhaust! yes i did say exhaust! one of the baffles had become dislodged in the centre section muffler, and every time i went over the smallest bump it rattled like the devil! changed centre section no more probs. Give the exhaust a thump! see if it rattles! just an idea.......
