Hello,
I have never posted to one of these forums, so sorry if it is in the wrong place. I drive 2016 S80 with a t5 engine, and for over a year now, there has been a very loud and obnoxious chirping sound whenever I accelerate, paired with sluggish acceleration. I went to Volvo, and they told me conflicting things but wanted to replace my entire turbocharger for over 3k, which I declined. After much trial and error with my mechanic friends, we narrowed it down to a faulty wastegate actuator within the turbocharger. We are 90% sure this is the issue, so I went to find a replacement which has been extremely difficult. Volvo obviously wouldn't sell me the part, but I have also been struggling to find the right part from 3rd party places. I finally ordered one from turbo smart and when we went to swap it found out it was too small and wouldn't fit (see photo, replacement on the left original on the right). I have tried to contact different websites for recommendations, but they don't know either. I think I have finally found one here that will work with my car, but they were also unable to tell me, and I would like to know for sure before I waste more money. Could anyone tell me if this one will fit in my car or if they have a recommendation for a different one? I would love to fix this summer and start enjoying driving my car again before returning to school. Thank you!
