Default turbo replacement

Im looking for a place to get a replacement turbo for my dads 2001 2.3 S60T5

hes kind of short on cash and i was hoping there was another place other then the dealership where you can get replacement turbos.

thx

Also,,,, id love to know if that turbo was used in any other volvo model.

im having a hard time tracking one down.

the dealership wants $1,000.00

I know someone somewhere has one rotting on a shelf after doing an upgrade.

finding it is the problem []

I did the same search on my 98 T5

You can get used from a place in California for around $325 plus shipping. If interested I can dig up the name for you.

Secondly you can get rebuilt from a place in Canton OH for around $450/500. I think it's named Xboost something like that.

Thirdly you could rebuild your own with kits on Ebay.

Mine was used but evidently in good shape, since the boost is good and it appears to work very well in my daughters ride.

Default RE: turbo replacement

The dealership gave my dad this as a part number for the turbo "8602395".... if this helps anyone.

yea im pretty sure by his description that it is bad....
I havent actually went to his house and listened to it, but i will before any money is spent.

how hard is it to rebuild one of these turbos with the kits you talked about on ebay?
Some turbos like the one I have on my truck just unbolt and you can replace the center section and the2 wheels and you're done.

Also when i searched ebay for the volvo turbo rebuild kits..... all Mitsubishi rebuild kits came up.is there a Mitsubishi part number that is the same for volvo turbos?

I found that xboost company websitefor anyone else that might need it....... it is http://www.xsboostturbochargers.com/

im going to call that other company that was linked and see what they have.

thx for the help guys.
