HELP!!! Where's all this transmission fluid coming from..
I have a 2004 Volvo s80 T6 with the 2.9 liter engine w/turbo ..
and has the 4 speed automatic w/geartronic option ,
I have a pretty bad leak coming from the transmission only leaks
when car isn't running , also if I park car facing down hill it will not leak
when Firestone had car on lift looked like it was coming from dipstick tube at the base of transmission .... but was hard to tell since fluid was dripping
close to my eyes and I think Firestone employees were in a hurry to get the car off the lift....
What's going on here and has anyone else had any problems like mine..
car also has 208,000 miles but I think transmission was replaced at one point..
the transmission shifts nice and strong no slipping but when level is low and a hard stop
is needed it will jerk I want to get leak fixed soon as possible as I know the damage
that can be caused by low fluid levels ..
any help or advice would be appreciated (live in Pittsburgh area )

I'm guessing I have an unique problem here , either that nobody wants to help....
I'm going to take a shot in the dark and replace the dipstick tube seal and if I have the tube itself it's the only logical
thing I can come up with ........

Success I got the tube out with out dropping anything but had to remove
upper support bar and upper mount
It was glued to the transmission with form a gasket
first pick is the damaged dipstick
second is what someone used
and the others are the finished repair (letting it dry over night )
wish me luck
