hesitation on acceleration
2000 s80 turbo. Recently started showing "Engine Service System Urgent" light. No CEL and no codes on scanning with Actron scanner. The car would lose power and go into limp mode. Stopping the car for a few minutes, then restarting would fix it temporarily. Also, idle was rough and would surge between 500-1200 rpm. Dealer said there were multiple DTCs in the electronic throttle module. I got a used throttle body and cleaned it thoroughly. Also cleaned MAF sensor. Warning light is now gone and idle is smooth with no surging, but now the car hesitates on acceleration from 0-40 mph and feels like it is missing at steady speed. Full pedal-to-the-metal acceleration is smooth and without missing. Still no CEL and no codes on scanning. Plugs have about 23.000 miles on them but the engine was not doing this before replacing the throttle module. I have replaced several ignition coils in the past, but always had OBD codes indicating cylinder misfire. After replacing the throttle module, does the ECM computer have to take time to readjust to the different module? Any suggestions?

Hi, There might be number of factors involve, PCV, Air hoses, Spark plugs, Coils and more importantly gaskets of Air intake manifold ...in fact I recently fixed similar problem on my s80 by just changing gaskets of intake manifold, do note my PCV, Air hopes, Spark plugs and coils are OK.
I took it back to the dealer and they said the throttle body is VIN-specific and that is why this replacement from another vehicle isn't working. They replaced it with a new throttle body and software ($735, ouch!) and now everything is working well.
