Does any body know how Volvo increased Hp on new 2011 T6
from 281 HP to 300 HP? Was it done by software by increasing
Boost pressure and if so what is the old and new pressure?

 

You know you can have your computer reprogrammed to put out 310ish hp takes the bost from 6-8 to 12-14

 

I assume that the 6-8 boost is for the 281 HP and the 300Hp would be about 10 to 12.
At the 12-14 boost I think a H2O /alcohol injection would be beneficial. Other wise I would think the ignition timing would have to be automatically retired to prevent detonation.
I just purchased a 2011 S80 T6

 

281? try 268.

 

Stock boost levels is around 8-10 pounds which = 268hp
Tunes usually raise the boost to around 14-17 lbs, which increase HP to over 300.

Water injection compliments a perfromance tune ALOT, as does a front mount intercooler

 

Confused, are you sure everyone is comparing the 2011 with the most recent gen T6 S80? The recent T6's are 281 HP, pre-2008 they were 268 HP.

I'm trying to find out what the boost pressure was for the 2010 281HP S80 T6 and
what the new boost pressure is for the 2011 S80 T6 300HP
