So what's the trick for removing the plastic air inlet hose from the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor? I loosen the hose clamp and the hose spins around the MAF but I can't pull it apart! I'm afraid to pry it with a screwdriver for fear of cracking either the hose or the MAF.

It takes some work sometimes but it pulls off. You can use a screw driver to pop it off.

 

i always get it off just by a little bend and twist. this way it doesnt crack anything or split the hose on the intake.
