Missing 'Inlet Hose to Cylinder Head'?
I recently had my 2005 XC90 in the shop to deal with the ABS light issue and about 2 weeks after having it back I realized it was making kind of a rough sound while idling. Before leaving for a long trip, I decided to poke around under the hood and make sure everything looked alright.
I discovered that there seems to be a hose missing right on the top of the cylinder next to the oil cap. I researched what the engine was supposed to look like and confirmed that there is a hose missing. Further googling led me to the conclusion that the missing hose is the 'inlet hose to the cylinder head' but I cannot find any parts by this name at any of the online parts stores. See attached photo of (top) how it should be and (bottom) how mine is.
I'm hoping someone here could tell me (1) is this hose called the 'inlet hose to cylinder head' and, if so, where could I buy a replacement and/or (2) is it safe to drive it to the Volvo dealership which is about 20 miles away.
Thanks everyone! I love my XC90 but as it approaches 100K miles, I'm trying to make sure it lasts. This issue concerned me, especially because I think it's likely that its been that way for almost two weeks. I'm planning to take it back to the dealership after the new year holiday passes, but I'd prefer to just fix myself if possible.
