Default how-to video: replacing brake pads 01 S80

All,
If you are thinking of replacing your brake pads, this video may help show you how.

It's relatively straight forwared, but some good tips along the way.

Thumbs up Thanks

Perfect timing, Kris. Just about to bring mine in, but now I feel I will just order the parts and do it myself. Really great video, thanks for this.

I first tried semi-metalic in my previous car and immediately noticed fade from 60 MPH (the brakes would get hot and loose effectiveness). I remember feeling like i was standing on the brake pettal at times. After a month the rotors warped. I the replace rotors and used ceramic pads. Brakes then worked like a champ.

How are your brakes working? Stop good from high speed? Do they fade?

I'd probably not do anything until a problem started

i still haven't put on the semi-metalics from IPD on yet. they come in tomorrow!

my car had stock pads/rotors on all corners up until recently. in feb i put some hawk performance pads on the fronts with r1concepts rotors. they took time to work in so i love them now. but it is now time to replace the rears. i'm not sure i want the same on the rear as the fronts- so i was going with just stock type pads so i went to IPD with their stuff cuz it's cheaper than the dealer. still debating if i should get new rotors or not--- that one i'm still debating on.

i digress- i don't have any fade, if anything they get stronger when hot. and they stop great from getting off the highway at high speed. i'll for sure update this thread if i end up warping the rotors or something.
