Default I think I have Christine...

from the Stephen King book/movie. Here's why: Last week my wife got an SRS System Service Urgent light and I took it to Volvo of Tampa to figure out what was going on. The code reflected that there may be something wrong with both seatbelts. I told the service tech that the driver's side seltbelt receiver was recently replaced and wasn't sure why it would it show something wrong with the seatbelts especially the driver's side. So, they reset the computer (no charge) and sent me on my way. Yesterday, the SRS light returns with a vengeance. My wife tells me now that the radio turns off and needs to be pushed a few times to turn on again. The windows have a similar problem in that they won't go down until it wants to. The most troubling of all is the transmission. My wife tells me that at times it won't go from park to drive. I will admit that it hasn't happened to me, but is it possible that the SRS Urgent light can cause so many problems or should I call Mr King for rights to the sequel? Thanks in advance, Gonzo

Have the dealer make sure the car has all the latest software.
Sounds like a module is dropping off for some reason. All the modules are on a network and if one goes bad it will play havic with the rest of them.

Thanks Tech, I'll mention it to the advisor on Tuesday. Also, I was wondering if it could be the battery? I replaced the battery a few months ago and after I installed the battery I got very similar symptoms (radio and window wouldn't work) and then the problems cleared up after a few minutes. Could this be related?

When you replace the battery, if the car isnt off for a while, the computer may not function entirely properly...and regardless, you might have some errors. When I changed out my battery, I had an SRS warning, tranny warning, and O2 sensor/malfunction warnings...they all went away eventually.

Could be from installing the new battery. These cars are very touchy with battery's.
You might just need all the codes cleared and it will be fine.
I have seen cars get almost 50 codes from just having a dead battery.

The problem was the ignition. The service tech said that there was a problem with the connection and it caused the SRS light to go on along with the other power issues I was having...damages...160.
