Default is this normal or abnormal :) ?

I got what looks to be oil leaking in the pictures below. Its quite 'oily' around the area. The oil there, is it something to worry about? I assuming it is..

In the first picture, just behind the gaping whole, is another plastic shield, The bolt closest to that picture holding the plastic shield intact is cracked also (just near the bolt). Is that something to worry about?

Now my oil trap was clogged according to the delearship, could this be the cause? that it is starting to leak? The reason why they thought this was because my dipstick popped out. Since that one time it popped out, it never popped out again (1month+).

Same engine, no special tools needed. Just lots of time and patience. Replace any questionable hose and always run a pick or something through any ports to find carbon clogs.

The more you drive with a clogged system the more oil you are going to lose.

Looks like it will take me a whole day to do this !... Im still learning my way working with cars... I just did my rotors and brakes for the first time 2 months ago! lol hopefully I will get through this one too.

Where do I get the hosing from if it needs to be replaced? the delearship? Roughly How many hoses can I expect to need cleaning/replacing?

Thanks

I would get................

Oil trap
Hose from oil trap to under valve cover
Hose from oil trap to turbo/air tube
Both small hoses from oil trap to engine

All parts you get from the dealer. Be extra careful removing the long double hose from oil trap to turbo. It snakes around the driver's side of the engine and removing the clamp can be a pain.

He will have to do some creative thinking. The S80 accessory bracket hides the one screw for the vent box.

I usually cut a groove in the bracket for access. I break the old box out and then cut the groove.
