I have a 2001 S80 T6... I cannot get the ignition switch to turn past the 1st position. Has anyone had this problem?

 

Try graphite if that doesn't work the ignition lock assembly is bad and will need to be replaced.

 

Thanks!! I was able to get the ignition switch to turn and start the car. However, I cannot shift the car into gear... if I pull on the shifter hard enough, I can get the transmission to go into reverse but it doen't seem to be fully in reverse. When I let off on the pressure, it jumps back into park.

 

The cable from the ignition switch to the shifter assembly might be out of adjustment.
You will need to pull the console apart to check it.

 

Anything specific that I should be looking for?
