Hi, ive owned my S80 for a 4months now and wheni had bought it from the dealer i learned that originally the car was a rental car. MY question is did the rental car company put a limiter on it. I have a 2002 2.9l volvo s80and i was also wondering what shoudl be the top speed on it

 

Pretty odd car for a rental car... To the best of my knowledge all of these cars are limited even though the top speed varies based on who you ask...

 

These cars have a limiter from the factory.
"Top Speed...will never be used in real life"

Edit: I think it is like 140mph

 

Best way to check is Test it. I tested mine to 149mph and thought it was fast enough....it didnt stop, I did

 

Easier said than done regards the testng unless you have a track nearby, preferably an oval or one with a LONGG straight..
I will never condone speeding on public roads hahah

had mine up to 225 kmh which is about 130 ish

 

European cars will be electronically limited to 155Mph.

Well, they should be, most arn't though.
