Looking for aftermarket brake fluid and engine coolant recommendations
Hi:
2016 S80 and its time to change the brake fluid and antifreeze/flush cooling system. Aside from Volvo brand, what recommendations are there for aftermarket products? For brake fluid (manual says DOT4), I see Pentosin and for antifreeze I see Pentosin, Valvoline G48 Blue, and Prestone AF6100 European blend. All are HOAT and despite the HOAT horror stories, I will stay with it.
Are any of the above preferred/recommended? Any others that are recommended?
Thanks!

I use Pentosin Super DOT 4 because my manual calls for DOT 4+ (2002) and I couldn't find any anywhere. Good stuff.
As for anti-freeze, match the specs (usually color coded, but not always) and use Pentosin, Valvoline or (if you want the pricey stuff) the Volvo mix. I went with NAPA Euro coolant in blue, because that's what mine needed.

I'd start by checking out some Volvo friendly online parts sites like FCP Euro and IPD USA. Pentosin is an OEM brand so that's a good choice. Also you can check the owners manuel for fluid specs (ie DOT4 vs xx for brakes, coolant specs - or an OEM part number etc). FCP and IPD will do a product match for you by model/year/engine so that's how I'd start. Curious, what color is the coolant in the car right now?
