This is my first volvo, a 2007 S80. I noticed as soon as I brought the car home that when opening/closing doors and when removing the "key" from the ignition port, that there is a pronounced, loud noise eminating from the steering column and behind the fan when the hood is open. I took the car back to the dealer and the servicemanagersaid it is "normal" and it is my solenoid engaging/turning off when the doors are open or the key is removed from the iginition.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I asked to test this out on another car on the lot, and there was some noise, but not as pronounced/loud as the one on my car.
