Default LUCKY, Very LUCKY!!!

Was watching a 2001 S80 T6 listed on craigslist about a month ago, for a grand. The car was at an import garage and the garage told the owner the timing belt was broke and the engine was shot. I decided to buy the car because its in very nice condition, and worst case id part it out if the pistons did come in contact with the valves. Finally got a chance to dig into it today and found the belt was intact, but the tensioner bearing was trashed (bearings and inner seal laying in the rear of the cover) so im giddy with hope that a belt, idler, tensioner and water pump gets this car running. The timing marks look to be lined up so i dont think it even jumped a tooth. Where is the best place to get the parts i need??? Thanks for the input.

You're going to need to redo the head. Definitely valves are bent.

Default Ok

I guess i will just plan on pulling the head. I could put a belt on it and do a compression test, but if you are sure the valves are bent it would be a waste of time. I did pull all of the plugs thinking i would be able to get my fibre optic light in to see any telltale of a valve strike on a piston but i cant see the valve side of any piston, only the center third of the piston.

Even though the marks line up, depending on the tension on the belt you can still smack the valves off the piston. I don't think id even bother with a compression test, just test each leakdown in each cylinder.
