Default need to get a Volvo Code reader, recomendations??

I have a 01 V70 T5 and looking to probably get a Project S80 this week. I amlooking for a recomendation on what code reader /diagnostic Sw to get for Volvo!
in the past I had Vag-com for Audi and it was awesome! it did everything the dealer could do with my laptop, idealy i would like something that will reset dash lights and tell trouble codes. is this possible on Volvo with out breaking the bank? my "local" volvo dealer is 40 minutes away and personally I have never taken a car to the dealer to get fixed (OUT OF WARRANTY) and preffer not to start! or can i get something to read codes and can they manualy be reset, like unplugging the battery etc...???? I see autoZone carries some readers do they work for anything?? my top priority is engine fault codes! the other systems would for now just be nice to have!
