I installed a rebuilt rack to replace a rusted/leaky rack. We had some trouble hooking rack to the steering wheel but we thought we got it. However the lines started to leak and I took it to local shop. While trying to push it into the bay the steering wheel broke loose.

I moved the car to another shop but I'd like to know what I need to be looking for parts wise. Anyone have any guesses as to what broke before I can get in to see whats up? I doubt its the rack itself, it seemed pretty tough when I put it in and other than being very easy to turn and not being connected to the wheel the steering wheel seems good. What else is in there between the steering wheel and the rack, and is "delicate"?

 

Well this is the part that broke, anybody able to recommend an interchange for it. I don't have a lot scrapped s80's around me. It was on the interior side of the firewall.
