Default Need to remove shift cable

Lately I've been having trouble with not being able to remove my key or shift out of park. With the help of this forum I found out it was because the shift cable was probably gummed up. This is definitely the case, and as you can see from the pictures attached, this area definitely needs a cleaning. I want to remove the cable this weekend but I don't know how to get it out. Any suggestions? Thanks, -Tucker

In the second pic where the cable attaches to the shifter remove the cable and clean and lube the arm. That should fix your problem. The yellow part will slide then the cable will come out.

So I just slide off the yellow part and the cable will come out?

You slide it out some. It will not come all the way off.
Then only the cable will slide out of the shifter assembly only.

Well in trying to slide it out some I broke the yellow plastic piece. Now the cable isn't attached to anything and the car can shift into any gear without pressing the brake. I need to get another of those yellow pieces ASAP! Does anybody have the part # and/or know where I can order one? Thank you, -Tucker
