Default New headlamps & Alignment

I recently replaced one of my dead headlamps (and other side as well) with a set of Philips CrystalVision 4000K's. Below are comparison pictures with the new bulb (left) compared to the older one (right). I like the way they turned out. Theyre very bright, but not obnoxious ricer wannabe blue.

Now, I noticed that they werent aligned to match each other. Is this something so that one can spot things on the side of the road whereas the other is lowered slightly so as not to blind oncoming traffic? Just wondering.

Thanks!
