Non turbo to turbo swap?
I was curious if, say...I was able to find a wrecked volvo s80 t6 at a salvage yard, could I take off all the turbo parts from it and convert my N/A car over to the turbo model??
Is it something that is a bolt on swap??? I was curious as doing this mabye to a less costly custom turbo setup. The reason why I ask is aren't both s80 models identical in the engine department??? It seems feasable if so.
Has anyone done this? I am seriously considering it. Pros? Cons?
Just shooting out some ideas. I'd like to do some mods to the engine. Doing anything engine-related is a long ways off because right now I am a full time college student and not employed at the moment. But still just wanting opinions from others. And when some extra cash to do so comes avaliable, I do have some plans.

In short yes this can be done. Is it worth it? IMO it isn't.
Items you would need
1. Vaccum lines
2. Turbo hoses
3. Injectors
4. Intercooler
5. Turbo or turbos
6. Downpipe and or downpipes
7. Intercooler hard pipes
8. Proper ECU tuning (Dyno sessions, etc...)
In short your going to spend a lot of money to do this when One you could just do a complete engine swap take out the NA and put the T6 engine in your car. And Two just sell the NA and buy a S80 T6 and be done with it.

I think you're setting youself up for a lot of work and who knows what else would need to be done. I'm not sure how different the transmissions are between turbo and non-turbo, but the turbo had the Geartronic. The computer may have to be programmed for a new profile for the transmisison too.
If you had a good donor car you would have to swap alot of stuff.
The you would have to take it to the Dealer and see if they could make all the computers talk to each other.

I'm just wondering if you may be better off finding a good used S80 T6 to add to the stable or trade in.
Then again, sometimes the evil you know is better than the unknown.
